Weekend Trail Highlight: Explore the Sugar River State Trail! 🚲🌿
Looking for a scenic weekend ride? We recommend the beautiful Sugar River State Trail – a local gem perfect for cyclists of all levels!
🗺️ Trail Details:
– Length: 24 miles (New Glarus to Brodhead)
– Difficulty: Easy
– Surface: Crushed limestone
– Scenery: Farmlands, woods, rolling hills, remnant prairies, and 14 trestle bridges crossing the Sugar River!
🌟 Weekend Ride Suggestion:
– Start in Albany, ride to New Glarus for lunch or coffee (about 30 miles round trip). It’s a perfect day trip!
– The trailhead in Albany is on 4th street
– If you want a shorter ride, use the Monticello Trailhead off County EE
🏞️ Trail Highlights:
– National Recreational Trail designation
– Connects to New Glarus Woods State Park
– Multiple river crossings with beautiful views
– Chance to spot local wildlife and birds
⚠️ Important Notice:
The Wisconsin DNR is currently repairing sections of the trail and removing downed trees. Please use caution around work crews and expect some rough or soft trail surfaces.

Stop by the shop for a quick bike check before your ride. We’ll ensure your tires are properly inflated for the crushed limestone surface.
Remember to bring water, snacks, and don’t forget those helmets!
