World Mental Health Day – October 10

World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10 each year to raise awareness of mental health issues and promote mental well-being globally. Established by the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992, the day encourages open conversations, reduces stigma, and advocates for better mental health care. Each year has a specific theme, focusing on issues like access to care, workplace well-being, or youth mental health. It’s a time for individuals, communities, and organizations to reflect, support one another, and push for policies that prioritize mental health as a fundamental part of overall health.

This year’s theme is Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies

The World Health Organization has some great information related to this year’s theme.

The World Federation for Mental Health also has resources and information.

We ran an article back in May for Mental Health Awareness Month about the health benefits of riding bikes.
